Swim Lessons in Clearwater-St. Pete
Your guide to swimming lessons in Pinellas County
Looking for swim classes in the St. Pete-Clearwater area? You’ve come to the right place! We’ve rounded up swim lessons in our area to save you time researching.
We are two local Pinellas moms who grew up here and now live here with our kids. All of our kids have gone through different swim classes in the area over the years. This list came from my own search looking for swim lessons for our then 3-year-old who is verrrry anxious about getting his face wet. I did a deep dive to find options for young kids who may need more support in swim lessons.
Below you’ll find a list of swimming lessons organized by category: city parks & rec classes, indoor pool classes, swim schools, swim lessons that come to your pool, and ISR survival swim classes.
Let’s check out the swim classes!
City rec centers
Many cities throughout Pinellas offer swimming lessons. They’re usually only offered over the summer but they’re the most affordable swim lessons you’ll find.
We did a session of city classes with our 3-year-old and it was a small group with multiple instructors. Our particular classes felt like the classes were best for kids already comfortable in the water. Our toddler is very anxious about getting his face wet and it seemed out of the experience area of the college student instructions.
TIPS: City ones often fill up fast because they are so affordable. Some places also offer assistance for financial need, like City of St. Pete.
Here are some example city websites:
- Clearwater Aquatics
- City of St. Pete Swim Lessons
- Largo Swim Lessons
- Dunedin Parks & Rec Magazine
- Seminole Swim Lessons
- Pinellas Park Aquatics
- Safety Harbor Leisure Magazine
